About me

Hi, I’m Shelley!

I’m a vocal coach, professional singer, and artist with a passion for helping people find their voice.
I started out singing at a young age with a wispy, frail voice pushing well beyond my limits as a piano accompanist and background vocalist for a church. After a first and second scare with vocal nodes, I knew that something needed to change if I was going to continue singing, which I felt such a strong calling to do. So, I set out to research healthy vocal techniques through doctors, various vocal teachers, and independent research resulting in my trademarked process, Shape My Voice.

Whether you’re a seasoned professional or just starting out, I guarantee you will learn something new and walk away with a rock solid foundation for a healthy and powerful voice. I am proud to share that I have trained vocalists such as Krystal Marie Peterson (lead singer for Victor Wooten), Nicole Wedel (role with Nickelodeon), Liz Fohl, and many more who have gone on to become professional performers, artists, and instructors. After learning how to sing in a way that was healthy for my voice, I launched into my career as a professional singer. I have had the pleasure of working with artists such as Johnny Mathis, Dolly Parton, Donna Summer, Sandi Patty, Ray Boltz, and Bill Gaither, both in the recording studio and in concert, as well as brands like Coca-Cola, McDonald’s, Fazoli’s, and many other companies recording commercials for their brands. I also began writing and performing original music as an individual artist and with worship bands through the church.

My core mission in all I do is to help others find their voice, not only as a singer but also as a person. As a survivor of domestic abuse, it’s important to me to empower women to believe in themselves – to trust their instincts, to find support when leaving bad situations and to break free from shame to pursue their dreams. You will hear many of these themes in my original music and in my YouTube series where I talk with other survivors about red flags and how to find support. An autobiographical song on my survival experience is heard in ‘Mr. Nightmare’ and the reminder of something greater than myself is heard in my latest song ‘Holy’. I look forward to connecting with you!
